We came three time and enjoy it in many ways. We had always good or very good weather ( believe us !), even at the end of September. There are very few French, although coming is so easy from Liverpool airport. And we wonder why, as the countryside is gorgeous, gardens and castles fabulous and people nice and welcoming.
