Every time I go to North Wales I come alive. What ever the weather it is always beautiful. In fact some places are more beautiful in the rain. The Snowdon range pulls at my heart strings as soon as I see it. I have been to North Wales more times than I can remember and always find something new to discover. Snowdon itself is a fantastic climb (the miners track is my favourite) and a wonderful sense of acheivement but there is so much more to North Wales. Beautiful lakes, amazing castles, marvellous beaches and great history. I have been all over the world but nothing quite beats it!

I have often visited North Wales for holidays in the last fifty years, and my most recent trip was a 500+ mile train journey, using my electric scooter, round most of North Wales, north to Llandudno, east to the English border, then Blaenau Ffestiniog, west to Porthmadog and south to Llanwrtyd Wells. I can offer useful advice especially to those like myself who use wheelchairs or scooters.

Myself, my wife and 2 children have visited North Wales at least once (sometimes twice) a year, normally centering on Betws-y-Coed, and have explored the area extensively. The combination of beautiful beaches, fascinating castles and architecture, the most stunning landscapes in Great Britain, wonderfully friendly people, great places to eat and no shortage of things to do means that we will always come back!

North Wales is the most magical beautiful place. And its here in the uk. The first time I saw the mountains I fell in love. I wanted to tell everyone, but was told it was a well kept secret. Share my secret and go see for yourself. I go after the first snow fall, but every season has its own beauty. The mountains will call you back time and again.

We have visited Snowdonia at least once every year since we married in 1990 - sometimes 3 times a year. It has become like home. The people are always pleasant and welcoming and there always plenty to do. The scenery is absolutley breathtaking and so are the beaches. We would recommend a visit to find out for yourself what an interesting and beautiful place Snowdonia is.

I live and work in the Cotswolds, am a member of the the Mountaineering Club of North Wales (MCNW), and travel to North Wales 4-6 times a year for walking and scrambling. The MCNW has a hut half way up the side of the mountainside in the Oqwyn valley, with splendid views of Tryfan - wonderful to wake up to in the morning!

I am a regular visitor to North Wales, for 20 years having owned a caravan & now a holiday flat in Harlech. I probably know the Harlech area better than my home area (& it's certainly a lot more scenic & peaceful). My main interest is in walking, and over the years have spent time walking in the mountains in Snowdonia,(including the Rhinogydd) as well as lowland and shore walks. I would be more than happy to recommend North Wales as a holiday destination (although I am not too familiar with the resorts on the North coast other than Llandudno) particularly to those who want to get off the beaten track.

We usually visit North Wales about 3 or 4 times a year. The attraction is the unspoilt scenery, peaceful surroundings, slow pace of life, no crowds, superb walking and friendly locals!

Snowdonia. Played golf at Royal St.Davids. Countryside and people lovely. Golf fantastic. Hotel lousey.Only good thing about it was the location- overlooking the Golf Course, Dunes and Sea. Would certainly visit Wales again but different area this time. So much to see, so little time.

I have been visiting North Wales for over forty years and I now own a small cottage on the opposite side of the estuary from Portmerion. The people are friendly, the scenery is magnificent and there is a special magic to the place that will draw you back time and time again. I am most familiar with the area north from Dollgellau through the Rhinogs and round to Portmadoc and Criccieth and through the Snowdonia ranges to Beddgelert and Llanberis. I am less familiar with the far north coast although I am a fairly frquent visitor to Llandudno.

Family concerns am unable to live there.

My husband Barry and I go to North Wales as often as we can and stay in Betws-y-Coed. In Betws, busy as it often is, you can walk for ten minutes and feel as if there is no-one else for miles. The scenery is superb and even after 55 years of visits I can still fill several films, or the card on my digital camera, in just a weekend. I can also find places I have never been before. The whole of North Wales is easily reached from Betws, whether you want mountains, lakes, woods, moors, gardens, the coast or beautiful little towns - and wherever you go you will find lovely people. For me going to North Wales is going home - my spirits rise the nearer I get - I can't wait to get there and visit my favourite spots. The weather doesn't matter - it can do whatever it likes, I am just so happy to be there - guess I'm English by birth, Welsh by inclination.

hills, and the enormous amount of history and culture there is in North Wales - Country houses, gardens, narrow gauge railways, industrial history, castles, waterfalls, cycling, white water rafting, fishing, golf - the list goes on and on.Suffice it to say North Wales is a great place for a holiday.

I have been holidaying in North wales for over 50 years, mainly on the Llyn Peninsula. The last 18 years have been with a touring caravan. Over the last 10 years we have spent more time of our holidays travelling from the Llyn into the Snowdonia area. We have recently purchased a static caravan 1 1/2 miles from Beddgelert, a chance opportunity that was too good to miss. My wife and I are retired now and are looking forward to spending even more time in an area we both feel at home.

Both Marie and I find North Wales delightful. It's full of history and legend. Mystical and magical. we mostly stay in the Snowdonia area of Minffordd near Portmeirion Village where we can tour most places. There are lovely walks for those who want just that. But there are also places for bikers both pedal and motor. I could go on and on but I think you get the drift we LOVE the place.

I lived in the Bangor area until I was 8 years old. Since moving away I have visited the area regularly (at least once every year and I am now 60). For the last 20 years or so I have had no family left in the area, so my visits have involved staying in hotels, guest houses, and for the last few years on caravan sites. I usually stay in the Bangor/Caernarfon area, but travel to lots of places that are within about 30 miles of where I stay.

I regularly visit Pwllhelli, Portmadog and lots of other places on the 'Welsh Riviera'. I've visited, but never actually stayed in, many of the beautiful villages on the Lleyn. I know much of the area around Bethesda,Llanberis, Capel Curig, Betws-y-coed. One of my favourite places is Blaenau Ffestiniog. It is grotesque - and magnificent.
Unfortunately I am not Welsh speaking but I have never encountered any unfriendly behaviour from local folk. Most of the people I have met are proud of their part of North Wales and do their best to make visitors feel welcome.
